A Day in London

Last Saturday I went to London for the day, I went with my Mom and we got the first flight over (6.30am) and the last flight back (8.30pm). This actually gives you a decent amount of time in London. We flew to Stansted and got the Stansted Express train in to Liverpool Street which takes about 45 minutes and cost £24. This got us into London city centre for 9am and we didn't have to leave again until 5pm, we actually could have left later but we decided to get to the airport early so we could relax, have a meal and a glass of wine or two. Here are a few pics from my flying visit....

Flying essentials...a mag (I actually got to read it!!!....flying without kids is like a day in the spa) . I don't actually like flying, I don't let it stop me travelling but everytime I step on a plane I think to myself why am I doing this??????. I always have some Bach's Rescue remedy especially when it's too early for a drink, I don't know if it actually works or if it's a placebo effect but I do feel calmer after a few sprays.

It was great day for flying, lovely and sunny (above the clouds). I have to say we got a really cheap fare with Ryanair and with no accommodation costs it was a really inexpensive trip.

Starbucks for breakfast.....caffeine was required after such an early start.

I just LOVE Covent Garden...there is always such an amazing buzz around there and with the weather being so good everyone was out on the streets having a few drinks and enjoying the sunshine.

Obviously I had to pop into the Disney store and look what I spotted....Cinderella's Wedding Dress....such a beautiful dress up dress with a not so beautiful price tag. I loved the Cinderella movie so much, it was so romantic and the costumes were amazing!!

How have I not eaten here before????? We had dinner in Stansted airport which has a good choice of eateries but we liked the look of the Giraffe menu so decided to give it a go and WOW what I had was a taste sensation.....

This was my grilled spiced prawns & chicken breast, mixed leaves, cucumber, radish, green onion, avocado, mango and chopped brazil nuts with tequila lime dressing salad.............so yum! My mouth is watering writing this....I'll have to book another flight to go back....

Easter....so late!

As Easter was 2 weeks ago this will be a quick post....I just thought I'd share a few pics and how I made up my little Easter gift bags.

I picked up Easter themed bits and bobs and of course loads of chocolate. I love Euro Giant for occasions such as Easter, Halloween, Valentines Day etc. they stock alot of decorations and cute things for kids. I love the little gift bags, ribbons, confetti and eggs on sticks, I used all these to make up my Easter gift bags. I probably spent less than a fiver on all the above (not including the chocolate)....such good value. I filled each bag with mini eggs, chocolate chicks, lambs, bunnies etc. tied with a ribbon and popped in a little egg on a stick for extra decoration. They were a big hit and super easy to make!!!

Hope everyone had a lovely Easter, it's great to see the weather getting brighter and warmer now and it really feels like spring is here at last!

A quick catch up!!!!

I have not posted in a while as my life has been so busy with alot going on personally and professionally. Not to mention I always feel like March and April are busy months anyway.
So here is a quick catch up!
Mother's Day was such a lovely and relaxing day....started with breakfast in bed (my fav: cup of tea, toasted bagle with bacon, tomatoes and a poached egg) the girls then gave me the little things and cards they had made for me at school, these are the things I treaure the most and they were so excited to give them to me. Hubby treated me to my fav perfume (major brownie points xxx) and left me to relax and enjoy my breakfast. Later that day we went for dinner with my parents (I like to spend Mother's day with my own Mom aswell) in Cork City to one of my favourite dining spots....Perry Street Market Cafe (I'm still dreaming of the pan fried salmon).

Babyboy was finally steady enough for his first pair of shoes (had been in prewalkers since November) He has been walking really since Christmas and properly since he was 14 months but when we brought him to get his shoes they advised to wait another few weeks before getting them.....so we did and a few days before he turned 15 months we brought him to Clarks and got these really cute shoes, I love them on him and they go with everything! He's flying around now!!!

St Patrick's Day was another fun day with family and friends. Both the girls took part in our local parade so there was great excitement.

I was lucky enough to get tickets for Pippa's Fashion Factory in The Castlemartyr Resort, in County Cork. If you haven't heard of it, Pippa O'Connor holds these fashion factory around the country and it is such a girlie, fun (and very informative) day out. The day consisted of fab makeup tips, hair style tips, Pippa's favourites (which I loved) a fashion show full of current, afordable fashion from the high street and a really yummy afternoon tea and a belini. It was a fantastic day and I have to say Pippa is even more stunning in the flesh and is such a lovely person, so down to earth and she really is one of the girls. We also got a lovely goodie bag which included two Blank Canvas makeup brushes and so that was the icing on the cake.

Another month and another reason to pack: We had a family wedding in London and after much deliberation we decided to bring the children with us (which I was delighted about really). As the wedding was multicultural there was two wedding events to attend so that meant two wedding outfits per person plus normal day wear etc. I used the same packing method as I did for Paris, which was lay out each outfit for each child (this is defintley the way to pack!!!) We had an absolutley fantastic time, both weddings were brilliant and it was great to experience a different wedding culture and traditions to what we are used to.

Phew.........that was a busy month, plus we had birthdays, days out with friends, parties, BBQ's.....we had a lovely Easter and I hope to do a seperate post about this very soon!
